Zaven Mansfield Sackett, farmer, son of Isaac Sackett and Mercy Mansfield, was born in PennsylvaniaG on 25 March 1834.1,2 He died aged 58 in Wayne, Ashtabula County, OhioG, on 13 February 18931,3 and was buried at Center Cemetery, WayneG.4 He married on 30 December 1857, Mary Ann Palmer, daughter of Daniel Palmer and Mariam Hubbard.1 Mary was born in New York StateG on 25 February 1831.5 She died aged 62 in WayneG on 9 May 18931,5,6 and was buried there on 11 May 1893.6
     In 1850 Zaven was living in Orwell, Ashtabula CountyG, in the household of his parents Isaac and Mercy, and was recorded in the census as Javan M Sacket, a laborer, aged 16 and born in Pennsylvania.7
     In 1860 he was living in WayneG and was recorded as Zavan Sacket, a laborer, aged 26. Living with him were his wife Mary, 29, and their son Charles, aged six months. Mary's sister Emeline, 18, described as a domestic, was also in the household.8
     Zaven registered for the Civil War draft in June 1863. He was married, aged 28, and was a farmer, living in Wayne, Ashtabula CountyG.9
     Zaven was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made in WayneG on 28 September 1868. He was left the use of the real estate during his mother's lifetime, subject to providing for her maintenance. After her death, the estate was to go to Zavan's son Charles.
     In 1870 he was living in Wayne, OhioG, and was recorded as Zaven Sackett, a farmer, aged 36. Living with him were his wife Mary, 39, their children, Charles, 10, Ida, 8, and Henry, aged three, and Zaven's widowed mother Mercy, 76.10
     In 1880 he was living in WayneG and was recorded as Zavan Sackett, head of household, a farmer, aged 46, and born in Pennsylvania. Also in his household were his wife Mary Ann, aged 49, born in New York, his children Charles, 20, Ida, 18, and Henry, 12, his mother Mercy, aged 86, and his uncle Joseph, aged 80.11
